Scam email security

If you have an email account you will probably be all too familiar with scam emails. These are sent to your email and is often designed to look like it has been sent from a company you use or your bank for example.

They usually are trying to obtain personal information such as passwords or account / card details to then use fraudulently to either access an online account you have and make purchases or to use your bank card.

Whenever you get an email that ask you for any personal information, do not reply to it or click any of the links within the email. Always call the company is question first using a number that you have contacted them on before. It the email is asking you to log in to a website then do not use the link within the email instead open up your browser and go directly to the site that way and log in as many fraudsters create duplicate versions of genuine sites to collect your personal data.
